Announcing the inaugural conference of the Pan African Literary Forum. A unique learning experience bringing together established and emerging writers of the African Diaspora for annual conferences of writing workshops, craft seminars, lectures, professional development, networking and cultural activities.
In the Pan African spirit of W.E.B. Dubois, PALF will hold conferences in a variety of locations in Continental and Diasporic Africa. The first three years are scheduled in Ghana - one week in Accra, the 2nd at a coastal retreat, with excursions to the slave castles of Elmina and other local historic sites. Scheduled Activities will consist of workshops, lectures on craft, professionalism and Literary Ghana, cultural tours and excursions, retreats and networking opportunities.
As a PALF conference participant, you will be part of a seminal movement in African world literature. PALF workshops will be uniquely designed to enhance both craft and professionalism. Accordingly PALF has participation commitments from journals, agents, editors, publishers and writing programs.
PALF will also function as a service organization to the various host cultures and be a resource to writers of the host countries. PALF workshops will be free to students of the host country in hopes of encouraging interaction between PALF Fellows and African literary communities. PALF hopes to increase global awareness, readership and both commercial and academic appreciation of African World Literature. Please join us in what will be a unique literary experience.
